Create rich, vibrant colour with our premium natural dye extracts, made from carefully selected plants and gallnuts. Sustainably processed and free from synthetic additives, these extracts are ideal for natural dyers, fibre artists, textile designers, and eco-conscious makers.
Suitable for all natural fibres each extract offers distinctive results depending on fibre type, mordant, and technique—giving you flexibility and creative control in the dye studio.
Extracted from the heartwood of the Acacia catechu tree, cutch produces golden browns, reddish browns, and deep olive tones. Particularly effective on cellulose fibres, it also performs beautifully on wool and silk. Modify with iron for grey-browns or copper for olive shades. Pure, chemical-free, and sustainably sourced.
One of the oldest and most reliable natural yellow dyes, weld produces clear, lightfast yellows on cotton, wool, silk, and linen. Overdye with indigo to create greens, teals, and emeralds. Performs best in slightly hard water—adding chalk can help enhance colour depth.
A natural, colourless tannin derived from Aleppo oak (Quercus infectoria). Ideal as a pre-mordant for cellulose fibres, it improves alum bonding and enhances both washfastness and lightfastness, while adding little to no colour—perfect for bright or delicate shades.
A premium tannin from Chinese sumach (Rhus semialata), developed specifically for textile dyeing. This clear tannin mordant improves dye uptake and colour fastness on cotton, linen, and hemp, making it an excellent preparation before alum mordanting.
A concentrated, high-alizarin madder extract (Rubia tinctorum) producing deep, vibrant reds, terracotta tones, and classic turkey red shades. Known for its brightness and durability, it’s ideal for bold reds on wool, silk, and cotton.
Traditional madder root extract (Rubia tinctorum) offering softer reds, pinks, orange-reds, and mulberry tones. A versatile choice for subtle colour work and historical dyeing, with excellent lightfastness across natural fibres.
Made from the heartwood of Haematoxylum campechianum, logwood yields rich purples, deep greys, navy blues, and black tones depending on mordant and modifiers. Suitable for both plant and protein fibres, and popular for eco-printing and traditional dye techniques.
