Birthday Cake - Naturally Dyed British Falklands yarn, DK

Birthday Cake is a joyful, confetti-like colourway scattered with lively speckles of coral, raspberry pink, burnt orange, golden yellow and deep inky blue. These brighter pops of colour dance across a soft, warm neutral background, with gentle washes of peach and blush running between them.

Naturally hand dyed in small batches, the colours shift between delicate washes and more defined flecks, creating plenty of variation throughout the skein. 

This colourway is dyed onto a beautiful 100% British Falkland wool, spun from the fleece of Falkland sheep reared here in the UK. Naturally soft yet resilient, it has a wonderfully smooth, refined handle while retaining the character of pure wool. Its light natural base takes natural dyes beautifully, allowing the layers of colour and playful speckles of Birthday Cake to really shine.

The naturally clean, bright wool provides a wonderful canvas for natural dyes, allowing the delicate speckles and shifts of Birthday Cake to shine while retaining the subtle, organic character of naturally dyed colour.

With its combination of softness, warmth and durability, this DK weight yarn is wonderfully versatile and suitable for everything from jumpers and cardigans to hats, scarves, mittens and other accessories.

The wool is non-superwash, preserving the natural character and qualities of the fibre.

Naturally hand dyed in small batches

Please treat your yarn gently and hand wash in cool water using a pH-neutral wool wash. A small amount of colour release during the first wash is completely normal.

As each skein is individually hand dyed, there will be natural variation between skeins. For larger projects, I recommend alternating skeins to create an even blend of colour.
